Aarti Shyamsunder, PhD

In a career that has spanned boundaries, Dr. Aarti Shyamsunder (she/her) has worked in various applications of psychology and behavioural science to help leaders and organizations reach their greatest potential and thrive. Aarti’s vision for coaching is to be a conduit for change. Through her career, she has applied a balance of science and art to support leaders in creating a thriving, vibrant and deeply interconnected world for all.

Currently, Aarti has global leadership and responsibility for creating distinctive, research-based, and impactful client solutions and thought leadership in the inclusion, diversity and equity (ID&E) space as part of Accenture’s Leadership and Culture Practice, which she became a part of through YSC Consulting’s acquisition into Accenture. Prior to YSC, Aarti ran her own research, coaching and consulting practice, “Psymantics Consulting”. She has also held specialist and leadership roles earlier, at a global non-profit organization and a multinational technology firm. Her work with clients from around the world has always focused on applying evidence-based solutions to organizational talent management issues such as leadership assessment, leader development and DEI.

In addition to her current role, Aarti is also the co-founder of Metamorphosis, a DEI consulting collaborative, a founder-advisor for Cymorg – a platform for virtual gamified leadership simulations and is the founder and President of “COSI” (the Community of Organizational Sciences in India). With over 70 invited talks (APEC forum, SIOP) and publications (articles in HBR, Quartz, and Huffington Post, book chapters “Inclusive Leadership: Transforming Diverse Lives, Workplaces and Societies, and academic publications such as Journal of Business and Psychology) to her credit, Aarti focuses on evidence-based practices in her consulting, research, writing, speaking, and teaching.

Whether coaching leaders, engaging in strategic consulting, running DEI systems audits, or teaching, Aarti brings a balanced perspective – leveraging expertise, experience and always foregrounding stakeholder impact. Aarti combines her deep psychological expertise, lived experience and experience across cultures and industries, to provide an intersectional, systems-focused coaching approach built around sustainable impact and thriving. Outside of work, Aarti is passionate about travel (volunteering to lead trips for women’s groups around India), Carnatic music and quizzing.
